The 1999 London Motor Show

by Shane O' Donoghue / Mark Sims

AC Cars

AC Cars were tucked away in a corner of the London Show behind Daewoo and next to Ronart. It was not a suitable position for one of the few true sports car makes to reside. Especially not with the announcement of a new engine for the big AC Ace - no less than the Lotus V8, as used in the Esprit.

In scarlet, the Ace looked stunning, with a baby-blue version parked next to it. Complementing the modern Ace was the Cobra-which-is-now-called-Superblower. The Brooklands edition was on show, and has lost none of it's appeal.

The Aceca coupe appears to be ready for production.
The Cobra is known as the Superblower these days - very tasty it still is!
