Caterham Cars will be attending the 1999 London Motorshow, exhibiting their latest line up on stand L24. Four cars and a chassis unit will be on display, including an all- new Caterham Seven. This new vehicle will be debuting at the show and as a world leader is sure to attract plenty of attention.
Caterham Superlight
This model has now become synonymous with ultimate performance. Whether powered by the 1.6 Supersport engine at 130bhp, the Superlight R with its 190bhp VHPD engine, this model offers phenomenal performance for your money. Built with minimum weight as the major design criteria, the handling is as sharp as a road car gets, with racecar like dynamics. This is carried over into the car�s race brother, specifically designed for the ultimate one make series, the Superlight R Challenge. Additionally, debuting at the show will be the all new Superlight R500. Details of this World leading car will be released on Press Day.
Caterham Roadsport
Based around the proven de Dion chassis and the award winning K Series engine, this car represents a technically advanced package that is as happy on the track as it is on the road. Available with numerous options to boost performance or tailor the car to the customers individual requirements, this model represents Caterham�s most popular car. This car is also available as a competition car, either in the factory backed Roadsport Series or one of the many series and sprints open to this class.
Caterham Classic
The original 1.6 Caterham Classic is still available for only �10,995, but for those wanting extra performance at an affordable price, a 1.8 Supersprint engine and six speed gearbox is now available. As with the Roadsport, this model is also available for competition use in the Academy 2000 and Graduate race series.
Caterham Seven Chassis Body Unit
A great number of UK buyers still choose to buy their Seven�s in component form for home build. To demonstrate this model, we will be displaying a cut down body unit, showing in detail the quality of design and construction of our product.
Caterham 21
The Caterham 21 has now come of age. Throughout the 1999 race season, Caterham have been entering the Caterham 21R in the Belgium Castrol Belcar Series. It has not only been a big hit with the spectators, but is fighting its way to a Championship Class victory, beating the renowned Lotus Elise along the way. The Caterham 21R also achieved a fabulous victory in the Zolder 24hr endurance race, again bearing the tenacious Lotus Elise. To celebrate these victories, the winning car will be on display on the stand, in its full battle dress.
