Luxury motoring in the 21st century takes on a new shape with Renault - Stand E10, Hall 1 - at this years London Motor Show at Earls Court amongst four new models being shown for the first time. The production version of Avantime - the luxury coupe that is truly before its time - will be joined by Renaults innovative Scenic RX4 - the first off-road Multi Activity Car - the Renault Sport Clio 172 2.0 16V - the most powerful front wheel drive hot hatch boasting 172 bhp of raw power - plus the new Kangoo.

The sexy new Renault Sport Clio

Avantime - The future of luxury motoring ... today
In true Renault style, Avantime opens up yet another sector of the car market - admittedly one long forgotten - that of the luxurious Grand Touring (GT) Coup with space for four adults to relax and travel in comfort.

First in a line of ground-breaking, top-of-the-range models expected from Renault over the next two years, Avantime offers a new breed of luxury motoring unparalleled by any other vehicle on the road today.

The combination of performance and driving enjoyment, the luxury of interior space and comfort - heightened by a panoramic glass roof and frameless side windows - advanced on-board technology and a powerful 3.0 V6 24V engine coupled to a new six-speed manual gearbox puts Avantime at the top of the wish list of anyone seeking to stand out from the crowd, see and be seen, in style and in comfort.

Challenging the more conventional luxury cars on the road today, Avantime goes on sale in the last quarter of 2000.

Scenic RX4 - go anywhere, bring anything
On sale early in 2000, Scenic RX4 retains the on-road performance, refinement, equipment, safety levels and renowned versatility of Scenic, whilst adding the security and ability of four-wheel-drive and a unique look of its own.

Based on the new version of the Scenic introduced this summer, the car combines Scenics flexibility and modularity with the ruggedness of RX4s composite body panels, enlarged bumper and more generous wings, also from composites, make Scenic RX4 unique. Renault believes Scenic RX4 will add a completely new dimension to the Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) market, forging ahead into new market sectors yet again.

Renault Sport Clio 172 2.0 16V - the most Va Va Voom yet for Clio
The first hot Clio of the new millennium - the Renault Sport Clio 172 2.0 16V - will also be making its UK debut at the London Motor Show. This 172 bhp Clio, which inherits the mantle of the legendary Clio Williams, has been developed by Renault Sport, the company responsible for the Renault Sport Spider, as well as six successful Formula One World Championship constructor titles won between 1992 and 1997. Renault Sport will also produce the stunning Renault Sport Clio V6 24V.

The Renault Sport Clio 172 2.0 16V will go on sale in the UK in the first quarter of 2000.

Kangoo - fun, economical transport for the millennium family
On sale from the opening day of Motor Show, Kangoo offers a style of French motoring last seen with cars like the Renault 4. Spacious, comfortable but practical, with low running costs and great stand-out style, Kangoo shows once again why Renault has the reputation for being the most innovative and daring car manufacturer in Europe today.

The Renault UK range - something for everyone
In addition to these ground-breaking new models the rest of Renault UKs extensive range is represented including the sporty Clio 16V and luxurious Clio Initiale, the four models of New Mgane - Hatch, Classic, Coup and Cabriolet - launched in April this year, New Scenic, the latest evolution of Laguna and the innovative Espace which according to the latest EuroNCAP crash tests, is the safest MPV on sale in the UK.
