What's the news?
It might look like someone has been let loose on a Jaguar F-Type with a large piece of charcoal, but this is art, dontcherknow, and no less an eye than Jag's design director Ian Callum selected the car pictured above as the winner of a social media-led competition held recently by the carmaker.
The winning entry was called 'Untamed Creativity', and was created by freelance interior designer and architect Justin Silke. The competition saw designers showcase their concepts under the Twitter and Instagram hashtag #FearlessDesign, using just 140 characters to explain the inspiration behind it.
Callum then picked a winner, which will be displayed on Jaguar's 'suite of exhibits' at Clerkenwell Design Week later this month, an event for which the Coventry company is a headline sponsor.
Also alongside 'Untamed Creativity' will be a bespoke installation by Jaguar and event partner Foscarini, which features a dramatic F-Type sculpture that will be illuminated in the Farmiloe Building's atrium. Callum added: "We were very pleased with the calibre of designs submitted, but the winning concept embodies Jaguar's design ethos of visual drama and individualism."
Anything else?
Aside from high-concept art, Jaguar will showcase a production version of the F-Type R Coupé at Clerkenwell Design Week, which takes place across the central London area from May 20-22.
