The highly anticipated UK launch of the Alfa Romeo 4C will finally take place next month at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. As well as being a static model in the 'First Glance Class', it will also make its first event ascent up the famed Hill Climb course.
Alfa's mid-engined, rear-drive 4C made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show some months ago. It was here that we learned that, behind the car's two seats, sits a turbocharged 1.8-litre engine developing 250hp and 350Nm of torque. Coupled with launch control and Alfa's TCT dual-clutch gearbox, this is enough to get the compact 4C from 0-62mph in just 4.5 seconds and onto a top speed of well over 155mph.
Alfa says that technical models of the car's lightweight chassis and gearbox will feature alongside an exclusive 'Launch Edition' 4C on the Alfa Romeo stand at Goodwood. The classic 33 Stradale is also set to make an appearance.
"The Goodwood Festival of Speed is a spectacular celebration of motoring. What better event for the 4C to make a thrilling UK debut?" comments Damien Daily, Head of Brand at Alfa Romeo UK. "This will be a Festival of Speed to remember for Alfa Romeo."
This year's Goodwood event runs from 12th-14th July.
