That my friend is the new Hyundai Tucson, which is all set to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but they stopped calling it Tucson six years ago. It's all about the ix35 now!
Not anymore it isn't. Hyundai is to revive the Tucson name on these shores to 'underline the significance of new model'. The ix35 is no more.
Yikes! Does that mean we might see the Elantra name coming back too?
I wouldn't go that far but it would seem that Hyundai has noticed people associate better with a name (as they do with the Hyundai Santa Fe) than they do with a random jumble of letters and numbers.
What else do we know then?
Not an awful lot actually. This is the only image that Hyundai has released and bar the new hexagonal grille, there isn't really a lot to take from it.
But what about that roofline and the rising waist?
Likely to be toned down for the production car and the alloy wheels won't be that big either. That said, Peter Schreyer, President and Chief Design Officer of Hyundai Motor Group did say: "Our new compact SUV will be a big step forward for the Hyundai brand globally. The All-New Tucson has a bold and athletic presence and a proud stance" so some of the looks might remain.
So when will we see it?
Doors to the Geneva Motor Show open on March 2. The Hyundai stand will be in Hall 1 if you want to drop by and there's a teaser in the video below:
