The mechanical bits of the Sport are based on the top-of-the range 1.8-litre GSi model. This includes a switchable traction control syste, ABS and disc brakes all-round. The DOHC engine produces a modest 115bhp at a peaky 6000rpm. This powers the Sport to 120mph flat-out and the 0-62mph sprint in 9.8 seconds. In the UK, the 323 Sport will cost 16,320 on-the-road. However, only 300 cars are planned so far. Better hurry.
