Last update - 07 July 2001 Kelvin has been busy this week. As well as a report and pictures from the Donington Park round of the BTCC, he was one of the first journalists to drive the new MG ZS-180 saloon. The Car Enthusiast is now selling the contributors photographs in printed format. Send us an email to find out more. If any of our readers think they are up to being part of The Car Enthusiast team, please let me know, Shane - Ed. |

Item 7 of 13: MG ZT XPower 500 We featured the first Extreme MG, the MGF XPower 500 a few weeks ago. Next in the lineup to get the Extreme treatment is the ZT saloon (itself based on the Rover 75). It does look a bit ridiculous in the MG XPower livery, but it is a one-off, so I suppose it is allowed! The engine is certainly not to be sniffed at - a supercharged 4.6-litre V8 (sounds like a Ford item...) gives the ZT 312bhp/tonne. This translates into an incredible 4.5 seconds to 60mph. Even though this car is a concept only, the ZT itself will feature detuned versions of this engine. The only rival that comes to mind is the Alpina-tuned BMW 3-series range. How ironic. << item 6 item 8>> |
