BAR is an all new grand prix super-team rising from the ashes of Tyrrell. They are a major player when it comes to resources and driver talent - it is worth noting that every racing discipline that Adrian Reynard has entered he has won the first race. However this year the Supertec V10 may be the weak link in the package. Expect Villeneuve and Zonta to fly on tracks where outright power is not the main issue. Villeneuve may even clench a win. A strong outing in the first GP of the year was not rewarded. A rear wing failure sent Villeneuve spinning at 170mph and Zonta is still getting used to the F1 scene - very promising though. The second race, in Brazil was just as bad, but Villeneuve proved himself in San Marino with a fantastic drive to qualify 5th. On race day however, the car would not move from the start line due to a problem with the gearbox. Jacques was understandably furious. However, Zonta's stand-in Mika Salo was impressive, finishing just one place outside the points. By the end of the season we would expect them to have a few points at least. |
