Daewoo Cars has collaborated with 12 of the countrys leading designers and artists to produce a stylish calendar for 2000 which will be sold to raise money for Gildas Club London - a free resource for people touched by cancer. Gildas Club will receive 1 for each calendar sold. The UKs fashion and style leaders have created striking images focusing on one special day or event for each month of the year, incorporating an aspect of a Daewoo product or the clamshell logo. Cult photographer Stratis captured the designers creations in his distinctive style. For example, milliner Dai Rees, who teamed up with Daewoo in his recent London Fashion Week show, produced a quill hat reflecting the sweeping, converging lines of the Daewoo logo to represent Ladies Day at Ascot for the month of June. Model Jemma Kidd is pictured in her school uniform, applying lipstick in the wing mirror of a Musso, depicting Back to School for September. Installation artist Tracey Emin, who was filmed for a recently screened BBC2 documentary while having a Daewoo tattoo applied at the calendar shoot chose October to highlight Breast Cancer Awareness month. Lingerie store Agent Provocateur has gift-wrapped a model sporting some of the shops finest merchandise and put her in the boot of a Leganza as a Valentines Day image for February. The Daewoo Calendar 2000 is priced at 5 and will be sold in the run up to Christmas through Debenhams, Oxford Street, London, as well as Daewoo showrooms (nearest Daewoo outlet: 0800 050607).
