  • New four-car line-up features 1.5-litre Automatic model
  • Twin front airbags as standard
  • Appeals to buyers looking for their first new car
  • Electronic power steering on all models
  • Quality practicality versatility...and FUN!

Making its European debut at the Geneva Motor Show this month is the new Mazda Demio. With fresh new styling inside and out, the fun and funky Demio is refined as well as user-friendly and versatile.

New Mazda Demio means new compact style and will become a popular choice on city streets when it goes on sale in May. Fresh, sharp, bonnet curve lines direct your eye to the new Mazda family face with its five-pointed grille. And improved front and rear suspension will let you experience a stable and fun ride.

Youthful sporty style continues to the new rear bumper and bright light cluster. Inside the new cabin is spacious and bright and features a two-tone instrument panel. In addition to the quality feel, controls are easy to use and the driver’s seat adjusts for height to give the perfect driving position.

Four models will make up the new Mazda Demio range for the UK. The LXi and GXi will take the 1.3-litre 63PS engine and the 1.5-litre 75PS engine will be available in manual GSi trim and with Automatic transmission.

All models come with twin airbags, passenger airbag cancellation system, roof rails and tilt adjustable electronic power steering - which cuts in only when necessary, improving fuel consumption figures - as standard equipment. In addition the 1.5-litre models are equipped with sunroof, ABS brakes, front fog lamps, alarm and remote central locking.

Fifty-fifty split/fold rear seats offer several combinations of passengers versus load combinations. For example, this versatile new small car will carry five adults and up to 409 litres of luggage with ease or even more with all seats folded. As it is easy to use, the new Mazda Demio boot has a low and large opening, so large, awkward objects fit in with minimum fuss.

Following its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, the new Mazda Demio will be reaching UK shores early summer 2000.
