SAAB 9-5 AIRFLOW MODELS ON STREAM
New ‘Airflow’ versions of Saab’s 9-5 saloon offering sports bodystyling and savings of up to 30 per cent are now on sale at franchised dealers.

Priced from just £23,775 on the road, Saab 9-5 Airflow models offer a choice of high torque 2.0-litre (150 bhp) or 2.3-litre (170 bhp) light pressure turbo engines and are distinguished by:

  • Lowered, sports-tuned chassis
  • 17-inch ‘quad’-spoke alloy wheels
  • Colour-keyed front ‘chin’ spoiler
  • Sculptured sill extensions
  • Contoured rear bumper
  • Front fog lamps
  • Leather trimmed, sports steering wheel

These factory-fitted features give savings of £405 and £275 against normal option prices for models based on ‘standard’ or ‘SE’ specification.

Saab’s widely-acclaimed 9-5 Estate is also available in Airflow guise. In addition to sports bodystyling, it is further equipped with body levelling, a sliding floor, a boot-mounted cool box with 12-volt socket and a roof rack with bike/ski holder. Prices start at £25,125, giving a saving for the additional equipment of almost 50 per cent against list prices.

Impressive standard equipment for all models includes: dual airbags, two-phase side airbags, interactive head restraints, dual zone climate control, remote control alarm/immobiliser (Category 1), steering wheel audio and telephone controls, radio/CD player, electric windows and mirrors, headlamp wash/wipe, night panel instrumentation, chilled glove box, charcoal interior air filter, hands-free phone facility and a split-fold rear seat. ‘SE’ versions are also equipped with leather upholstery and a wood veneer fascia.

Whilst Airflow styling puts the emphasis on sporting good looks, Saab 9-5 levels of safety remain an industry benchmark. EuroNCAP assessors recently awarded the Saab 9-5 the highest score yet achieved under their crash testing programme, including a 100 per cent rating in the newly-introduced side impact ‘pole’ test.
