| Long Term Test | SEAT Exeo ST |
Been anywhere interesting?
Since we brought the SEAT over to Ireland it has been up and down the country on various duties, but it still spends most of its time in and around Dublin, which explains why we're struggling to get anywhere near 40mpg. On a cruise it significantly betters that.
Anything stand out...?
It took a week away on holidays at the wheel of a hire car to bring into focus some of the Exeo's good points. The first thing I noticed on my return to the airport car park was how supportive the sports seats are. We have the standard cloth items, though if I was spending my own money on this I'd try to find the extra £925 for leather, as it raises the ambience of the cabin.
The chassis is worth mentioning here, though there are good and bad points. At low speeds the car can jiggle about a bit, though it absorbs large bumps very well. No doubt the standard 18-inch alloys and low profile tyres don't help, but they do look great.
...and for the wrong reasons?
Being away from the Exeo for a while also unfortunately highlighted the bad points. The clutch doesn't feel quite right for starters and the power steering is too heavy at a standstill - if fine when on the move.
I asked my wife what she thought of the car and she didn't have much to say other than the engine is quite loud. She's right too, though it's only really noticeable on start-up and around town.
Where next?
More of the same really. Kyle's been hinting that he'd like to drive the Exeo a little more so it may have to head back to the UK soon.
