What's all this about?
A new design direction for the Audi brand, inside and out, courtesy of its latest Head of Design.
Who is...?
German Marc Lichte, 45, a long-time Volkswagen employee who has risen through the ranks in the group to become the bloke responsible for how Audis look.
So what's this car, then?
Well, it's one of those classic teaser images put out by car companies ahead of a major car show - the event in this case being the Los Angeles Auto Show, running from November 19.
Can you tell me any more about it?
Not really, no. It is the first concept car to issue forth from Audi under Lichte's direction, with the design said to involve the core competencies of the brand - 'sportiness, lightweight design and quattro drive'. It will serve to preview the appearance of production Audis for the next few years, although whether it will become a production model in its own right as yet remains unclear.
If you can't talk about this car, can you tell me some vehicles of Lichte's I might be familiar with?
Certainly. At Volkswagen, he was responsible for the Golfs from Mk5 to Mk7, Passats from Mk6 to Mk8, the Touareg SUV and the Phaeton.
