What's all this about?
Porsche is putting 16 of its rarest and most secret cars on display in a limited-time-only exhibition.
Where is it being held?
At the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen, Stuttgart. The museum is open 9am-6pm Tuesday-Sunday, and the 'Project: Top Secret!' event runs until January 11, 2015. So get in there, quick!
What's on show?
A variety of development cars that have originated from the finest minds at the Porsche Development Centre at Weissach over the past four decades. These include an aerodynamic version of the 959 supercar, a 964 Targa that used a mid-engined layout to develop the Boxster and some wacky prototypes from the 1970s onwards that never saw the light of day. Most of the 16 cars have not been seen by the public before.
Anything else?
Well, if the idea of a 928 Cabriolet doesn't float your boat (what is wrong with you?!), then there's a rolling chassis for the current 918 Spyder hypercar for you to ogle at, while special family events from 2-5pm on September 28, October 19, November 16, December 14 and 28, and January 4 add a 'scavenger hunt' and the chance to camouflage a 918 to the guided tour of Project: Top Secret! Although places on these events are limited, so you need to email [email protected] to let Porsche know you're planning to attend.
