What's the news?
Here's the first indication of how Skoda's new Fabia supermini will look. Its world debut will be at this autumn's Paris Motor Show and, somewhat surprisingly, it doesn't use the MQB platform.
Exterior
On the styling front, from the sketch, it looks pretty much like the current car but with sharper detailing. "This is the first time in a series production vehicle that Skoda designers have incorporated elements from the VisionC show car. Skoda motorsport has also provided inspiration for the final design. These two foundations combined give the new Fabia more dynamics, passion and emotion. This sharp, new image fuses crystalline shapes and sharp lines with the highest precision" says the release accompanying the pics, so it could be that for the first time ever, the Fabia will be more design-led than once it was.
Anything else?
Shed a tear for the lovely little vRS version. It won't be replaced. There will be a sporty-ish Monte Carlo variant, but the next Fabia will do without a hot hatch variant. Sniff.
