What's the news?
Ferrari has confirmed that its factory workers will receive a substantial bonus this month, worth over £3,300. This is due in part to record profits for the Italian company in 2013.
The bonus is the result of an incentive scheme agreed with unions in 2012 to share the company's success. As well as profits the reward is linked to a range of operational values including levels of quality. Last year Ferrari paid an additional three-yearly bonus and Chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced that the scheme would be extended for a further three years.
For 2013 Ferrari announced that it would limit production to fewer than 7,000 cars per annum until 2015 to preserve the exclusivity of its products. The decision has not affected trading profits, which increased 8.3% last year, and the company's net financial position is said to be at an all-time high.
Anything else?
The bonus for 2013 was paid in three instalments with two advances of €1,000 (£825.90) followed by a payment this month of €2,096 (£1731).
