Ford has updated the Fiesta line-up with a new 78hp 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine and a PowerShift automatic gearbox.
The new EcoBoost unit has a CO2 emissions rating of just 99g/km with a combined cycle fuel economy figure of 65.7mpg. Like other EcoBoost engines, this too is a turbocharged, direct injection petrol unit.
The other addition to the range, the PowerShift automatic gearbox, is a six-speed dual clutch unit. It's available with the 98hp version of the EcoBoost 1.0-litre engine. The combination has a CO2 emissions figure of 114g/km and 57.7mpg fuel economy. The gearbox can be used in full automatic mode, sport automatic mode or the gears can be selected manually.

Ford says that both new options in the Fiesta will be available for March registration.
