What's the news?
You could even call it a hybrid announcement. Lexus, makers of the only full hybrid luxury hatchback, have announced details of its 2014, CT 200h. We can reveal that the 2014 model comes with revised styling and now a reduction in pricing. Starting with the entry level S model, prices are being reduced by £1,000. Go further up the range, and prices drop by £1,500. Finance options are available to get owners behind the wheel for just £219 per month.
Exterior
Like we said, Lexus has taken a scalpel to the CT 200h. New styling tweaks include a more pronounced restyle of the trademark 'spindle' grille. On the sportier F Sport model, Lexus has added a more pronounced mesh grille that's wider and lower. Lexus says it is the same mesh pattern adopted for the IS F sports saloon. Added too, is a rear spoiler with rear ducts and revised wheel designs.
Interior
The interior is more a case of quality tweaks, than a full rethink. Useful additions include a new sev-en-inch monitor on the central console with a revised steering wheel from the IS model and a new gear lever. No revolution inside then, but the high quality materials remind you that it's a Lexus you're in, after all.
Mechanicals
Allied with a price reduction, Lexus says it's business as usual with low emissions. Across the range, emissions have dropped to as low as 82g/km for the S version - attracting no charge for annual Vehicle Excise Duty. Official fuel economy is 78.5mpg for the S model.
