What's the news?
The Mitsubishi Shogun is now cheaper than ever before thanks to substantial cuts in the model's list price. The biggest reductions will save buyers £5,000 on their new car; while even the smallest drop result in a £3,900 cut compared to the old pricing strategy.
The reason for the price cut is all part of Mitsubishi's determination to increase sales volume in the UK for the remainder of 2013 - and for years to come no doubt. It looks as though Mitsubishi may be on track with this goal too, as its current sales increase of 41 per cent makes the brand the fastest growing car manufacturer in the UK this year.
As well as being a tried and tested off-road vehicle, the Shogun is also capable of towing a hefty 3.5 tonnes. The model is available with either three doors and five seats or five doors and seven seats; and can also be specified as a commercial vehicle. Mitsubishi says that the Shogun Commercial is one of the most successful commercial off-roaders to date; and as such has reduced its prices as well.
"Shogun has always had a loyal following and now with our announcement on pricing, Shogun is even more affordable," said Lance Bradley, Managing Director of Mitsubishi Motors UK.
Anything else?
The new pricing strategy means that an entry-level short-wheelbase 3.2-litre DI-DC model with a manual gearbox can be had for £26,199; rising up to £36,799 for the top-spec SG4 in long-wheelbase form with an automatic gearbox. The Shogun Commercial is now available from £27,649.
