Aston Martin continues to celebrate its 100th birthday by putting one of its new models on the helipad that sits at the top of the famous Burj Al Arab hotel in Dubai.
This is the first time a car has ever been on the 1,000-foot high helipad; and Aston felt that its all-new Vanquish model was up to the job.
Aston Martin CEO, Dr Ulrich Bez, was on the helipad to witness the event; as were a number of the region's dignitaries. "It is with great pride that we continue our centenary celebrations in such unique manner in Dubai," commented Bez.
British Ambassador to the UAE, Dominic Jermey, also attended the event, stating: "I cannot think of a more spectacular or fitting way for [Aston Martin] to mark its one hundredth anniversary, particularly in this city that is so passionate for luxury and bespoke brands."
The event in Dubai is one of many celebrations for Aston Martin this year, including a week-long festival at Aston's Gaydon headquarters in July; culminating in a 1,000-guest party and a centenary gathering on the 20th and 21st July. Other events are scheduled to take place at the Nürburgring 24 Hours, Le Mans 24 Hours, Silverstone and Pebble Beach.
Aston is also releasing 100 Centenary Editions of all its models in honour of the occasion. Each will feature a unique paint finish and bespoke sterling silver badges.
Aston Martin's official birthday was celebrated at a ceremony in London's Henniker Mews, where Aston Martin was founded on 15th January 1913.
