The F10M M5 has only been with us for a few months but that hasn't stopped BMW from releasing a limited edition. The Bavarian firm has teased the M5 M Performance Edition of the 560hp super saloon with a short video on YouTube.
The video shows three cars painted in unique Frozen (also known as matt) paintwork. Red, white and blue - the colours of BMW M's division, and also coincidentally a very patriotic colour for the official car supplier of the London Olympics - will be offered with production limited to thirty vehicles, ten in each colour.
Despite the 'Performance' name power form the twin-turbocharged 4.4-litre V8 is expected to remain the same, which means 560hp, 680Nm and a 0-62mph time of 4.3 seconds. Prices and full details are yet to be confirmed but we would not expect too much change from £75,000.
If you are not lucky enough to secure one of the limited edition M5s BMW also teased a similar treatment for the M3. The M3 M Performance Edition is the latest in the long line of run-out models for the current generation M3 and receives the same paint treatment as the M5 with similar numbers to be offered. The videos below hint at what to expect.
