Porsche Engineering has taken over the Nardo proving ground in southern Italy. Facilities at the site include a 7.8-mile high-speed track and 3.9-mile handling circuit, which will be available to the company's clients for vehicle development.
Nardo is intended to complement Porsche's Weissach development centre in Germany. The 700-hectare site offers a variety of road surfaces and the ability to simulate different weather conditions. Thanks to the agreeable climate vehicle development work can continue throughout the year.
Porsche Engineering is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, which provides development services to clients from the automotive and other industries.
