Mercedes-Benz has revealed that the new ML 63 AMG will be available from £82,995 on-the-road. For their money customers get a 5.5-litre bi-turbo V8 and the latest AirMatic suspension.
The latest 525hp engine is said to be almost 40% more economical and emit around one third less CO2 than before. With a 'Controlled Efficiency' mode in the seven-speed automatic transmission and stop-start function, official fuel economy is 23.9mpg with CO2 emissions of 276g/km.
For an extra £6,165 customers can order the AMG Performance Package to lift power to 557hp and torque from 700- to 760Nm. Even in standard form Mercedes claims acceleration from 0-62mph takes 4.8 seconds with a top speed limited to 155mph. A separate £2,820 Driver's Package raises the limiter to 174mph and includes attendance at a 'Power and Passion' event.
The steering, suspension and brakes have not been neglected. AMG sports suspension features the 'Mercedes-Benz Active Curve System' with AirMatic self-levelling.
Exterior modifications include AMG front and rear aprons and side skirts. The LED daytime running lights are exclusive to the model, the exhaust system boasts two sets of twin tail pipes and the front wings carry 'V8 BITURBO' script. On the inside there are leather sports seats, an AMG four-spoke steering wheel and AMG instruments. Equipment includes the Mercedes-Benz COMAND Online system, DAB radio and an electric glass sunroof.
