Ferrari recently announced the arrival of a Tailor Made bespoke package for discerning customers who want something a little bit different from their standard supercars and Aston Martin followed suit at Geneva with the 'Q by Aston Martin' collection. Lotus is the latest manufacturer to jump aboard the bespoke gravy train, but we are not sure Hethel quite got the idea.
For its package Lotus has appointed 'famed' German styling house Mansory as official Customisation Studio with both companies working closely to 'produce modifications that scream individuality and quality.' Assigned to special projects, Mansory will contribute bodywork, trim and special finishes for the Lotus Elise, Exige and Evora.
Lotus and Mansory have worked together in the past with the most notable results being the chrome-red Evora GTE by Swizz Beatz and, most recently, the raw carbon-fibre Lotus F1 Team Evora GTE. The new collaboration will introduce an exciting new model variant at the Paris Motor Show in September.
"Mansory are leaders in their field, and having worked closely with them on the Evora GTE and the special editions we've unveiled recently, we now wish to take the partnership to an official level," said Wolf Zimmerman, Chief Technical Officer with Group Lotus. "Together, I am confident we will continue to produce outstanding sports cars, with the bespoke qualities that many of our discerning customers look for."
