Citroen is offering a £1,000 discount on its newly updated C1 city car when it goes on sale on 2nd April, bringing the entry level price down from £7,995 to just £6,995.
The Citroen C1 will go on sale in both three-door and five-door guises in three trim levels - VT, VTR and VTR+ - all of which are eligible for the £1,000 discount. All models will launch with Citroen's new 1.0-litre petrol engine, which is capable of achieving 65.7mpg. It is also Citroen's first petrol unit to emit less than 100g/km of CO2, qualifying it for exemption from both congestion charges and first year VED.
Entry level VT models come with a CD player and MP3 connectivity; while the range topping VTR+ trim offers 14-inch alloys, air conditioning, Bluetooth and USB connectivity, daytime running LEDs, a leather steering wheel and tinted windows as standard. Optional on the VTR+ is Citroen's paddle-shift Electronic Gearbox System - an automated manual transmission. Prices for the VTR+ start from £9,695, dropping to £8,695 after the £1,000 discount.
Other financial incentives for the new Citroen C1 include leasing options for the VTR model from just £99, as well as a year's free insurance for those aged between 21 and 75. The free insurance offer is also extended to those purchasing a VTR model with 'Elect 3' finance.
The new C1 is available for pre-order now.
