Renault has added two more Clios to its range of Gordini models. They are described as offering the look and feel of the 200bhp flagship Clio Gordini but with lower running costs. Prices start at £14,000 and both versions are available to order now.
The new models are a 1.6 VVT 128 petrol and 1.5 dCi 106 diesel based on the three-door Clio. The former uses a detuned version of the engine fitted to the Twingo Renaultsport 133; Renault claims 0-62mph in 9.3 seconds and combined cycle fuel economy of 42.2mpg. The diesel version manages 62.8mpg with CO2 emissions of 110g/km and a claimed top speed of 119mph.
To ensure the new Gordinis look the part they get 16-inch 'Turini' alloy wheels and twin racing stripes. The door mirrors and front bumper insert are finished in the same colour as the stripe (white or anthracite grey depending on body colour).
Inside the seats are finished in grey with the Gordini logo with blue cloth a no-cost option and grey or blue leather available at an extra cost. The leather steering wheel and satin chrome gear lever also carry the Gordini badge. Gloss black trim and a white rev counter are also fitted.
Standard equipment includes auto lights and wipers, climate control and front curtain airbags. Carminat TomTom satellite navigation and an electric panoramic sun roof are among the options. Metallic paint in blue, black or red - all with white stripes and details - is optional; the standard colour is white with anthracite grey stripes.
Deliveries of the new Clio Gordinis start in September.
