Audi's recently-facelifted A5 is set to compete in next year's DTM touring car championship.
Although it looks as if it's based on the road car, the A5 DTM has a carbon fibre monocoque chassis with steel tube rollcage. Inside, the stripped-out interior features a single racing seat, while the fuel tank has been incorporated into the carbon fibre structure - just like Audi's Le Mans racers.
Powering the A5 DTM is a 460bhp V8 engine, as used in the Audi A4 DTM campaigned from the 2011 series. It uses a six-speed sequential manual gearbox.
Aerodynamics is taken care of by a sculpted front spoiler and splitter, while at the rear is a larger wing than the current A4 DTM's. Flared wheelarches cover slick racing tyres on alloy wheels.
