Mastretta has taken its time to bring the MXT coupe to full production, but the company says it is now ready to start building the car. It plans to make 100 models by the end of 2011, with greater numbers planned for 2012.
The MXT uses a Ford 2.0-litre engine with 250bhp and five-speed manual gearbox. Mastretta claims the car will cover 0-62mph in 4.9 seconds and has a top speed of 150mph.
Like a Lotus Elise, the Mastretta uses a chassis made from extruded aluminium and a body made from glassfibre. There are double wishbones uses for the suspension at each corner and the MXT offers 30.0mpg and 195g/km emissions.
Mastretta has a proposed price of £32,999 and British customers can reserve their car online now.
