Mercedes-Benz UK has launched an exclusive new model, the C-Class DR 520, with more power than the C 63 AMG. It will be sold exclusively through the Mercedes' Specialist Products division and will be limited to a production run of just 20 cars - in either saloon or estate guises.
Based on the current C 63 AMG, the Mercedes-Benz C-Class DR 520 has a power increase to 513bhp, a 60bhp increase over the stock C 63 AMG. The DR 520 saloon can reach 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds with the estate taking 4.2 seconds. Both the saloon and the estate are electronically limited to a top speed of 187mph. The additional power is achieved by Mercedes fitting the AMG Performance Pack Plus as standard. It also includes AMG's high-performance braking system with red brake callipers and an AMG carbon fibre rear spoiler for the saloon.
A black or white matt wrap, titanium alloy wheels and subtle DR 520 badging gel together to set the new comer apart from its stable mate. Inside, sports leather seats with red or white stitching, and an AMG Performance steering wheel is standard.
Nigel Unsworth, Specialist Products Division Manager commented: "We wanted to launch the Specialist Products Division with something unique - and the DR 520 fits the bill perfectly."
The DR 520 costs £62,430 for the saloon and £63,680 for the estate - a premium of £9,995 above the standard C 63 AMG prices. A three-year warranty is standard.
