Cadillac recently unveiled a third CTS-V model at the New York Auto Show. The estate - or Sport Wagon - has been given the high-performance treatment.
The CTS-V Sport Wagon combines the 548bhp engine we've seen in the saloon and coupé with an estate body and 720-litre load space. The running gear has also been improved with Magnetic Ride Control, Brembo brakes and forged 19-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tyres.
Visually, the Sport Wagon shares the same radiator grille as the other CTS-V vehicles. It also has a hump in the aluminium bonnet to clear the supercharger. The tailgate has a distinctive, shallow 'V' shape, there is a roof-mounted spoiler and three-inch chrome tailpipes finish the stainless steel performance exhaust system.
Inside it is similar to the saloon, except for the additional load space and folding rear seats. That means plenty of leather, Alcantara and Obsidian Black trim. Recaro sports seats are an extra cost option.
Production will start later this year with the first cars arriving in dealers for late 2010. Deliveries to other markets including Europe and the Middle East will follow, probably in early 2011.
