Ever since the unveiling of the
Metroproject quattro concept at the
2007 Tokyo Motor Show, the German maker's MINI rival has been on the cards. That car later became a confirmed production model, but we're yet to see exactly what the showroom car will look like.
This image, taken from a trio of teaser videos released yesterday (15th December 2009) by Audi, gives us yet another clue as to what the A1 will look like - but doesn't tell us much else about the car.
It'll go on sale at the end of next year and be priced as a direct MINI rival, so expect the range to kick off at around £14,000 rising to over £20,000 for a JCW-rivalling hot hatch. Audi's familiar engine line-up will provide power, kicking off with small capacity TSI petrol units and TDI diesels, bookended, we hope, by a range-topping turbocharged RS1.
