If you want Lamborghini Murcielago performance but in a Gallardo package, Edo Competition has just the car for you: the LP600/4. It's based on the latest
Gallardo LP560-4 but pushes power to 600bhp and ups the top speed to a Murcielago-matching 211mph.
To free up 600bhp from the 5.2-litre V10 engine, Edo has ditched Lambo's standard exhaust and fitted its own stainless steel system that, on its own, helps produce a further 15bhp. For the full 600bhp, Edo also tweaks the Gallardo's ECU to match the exhaust's characteristics. A side benefit of the new exhaust from Edo is that it's 12kg lighter than the original set of pipes and there's a push button in the cabin so the driver can open up the exhaust for the full sound effect of the tuned engine.
The Gallardo's four-wheel drive system remains intact and helps put the 600bhp to good use for 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds. A boost in torque to 422lb.ft also helps the LP600 overtake with even greater alacrity.
Edo has not ignored the rest of the Gallardo's dynamics while increasing the power of the engine. The front and rear suspension now feature uprated low friction shock absorbers and re-rate springs, and all are fully adjustable. Edo says the suspension was developed on track, while the 19-inch alloy wheels are hand polished but share the same tyre size as the original Gallardo wheels so customers can swap tyres from the base car. There's also a revised front spoiler for greater high speed stability.
Of course, the Edo Competition Gallardo LP600/4 wouldn't be a tuned car from Germany if there wasn't a long list of other options to tailor the interior to the customer's whims. To this end, LP600/4 buyers can choose from a huge list of bespoke interior colours, trims and finishes.
