Porsche geeks listen up - literally. The maker has just started a competition to win an amazing 911 driving experience around Silverstone, which involves telling different engine notes apart.
Sound too geeky for you? Good. But you should have a go anyway, because Porsche has clearly put a lot of effort into the snazzy website where the competition can be found:
www.porsche.co.uk/competition. If it really is too geeky for you, but you like the idea of tearing a 911 around Silverstone anyway, you can buy the 90-minute experience for £275.
Anyway, the competition involves listening to an engine note through your tinny computer speakers then deciding which of three cars it is. Do that a few times, give Porsche your details and voila - it could be you.
The Silverstone experience, called 'Evolution 911' involves driving a 1986 3.2 air-cooled Carrera, a 993 911 and a new Carrera for a good few laps. If that didn't sound so very cool, we wouldn't be helping Porsche with this shameless pre-Christmas marketing drive, so get yourself to the website. Ok.
