Think of a scaled down supercar and you will probably picture a
Lotus Exige but the Hethel car has a new Japanese rival. The Suzusho Supasse-V will be on display at the
Tokyo Show and it combines a unique chassis and body with Mazda power.
The Supasse-V's engine comes from the
Mazda3 MPS and is tuned to produce 266bhp, which should provide impressive performance in the 850kg V. Weight is kept down thanks to an aluminium chassis and fibre-reinforced plastic bodywork.
Styling is by an established Japanese designer and shows strong hints of Ferrari Enzo, particularly in profile. However this should be more than just a look-a-like supercar. Suzusho has been building Caterham-style sports cars for some years and the director used to be a racing driver so the driving experience should live up to the looks.
The Supasse-V will be on display at the
Tokyo Motor Show from 21st October and on sale next summer. There is no word whether UK sales are planned but various sources are quoting prices between £30,000 and £187,000...
