Two sketches and pretty much zero information: that's what we've got on this sharp-looking supermini sketch from Nissan. What we can confirm is that it is the new Micra, and Nissan is very keen to point out it's a replacement rather than a successor. Expect an all-new platform then and a simplified, even more economical range of engines. If Nissan follows the trend of other firms its new Micra will be lighter in a bid for greater economy and emissions.
It will no longer be built in Sunderland though, so patriotic supermini buyers might have to look elsewhere. Fear not for British jobs, as Nissan's Sunderland plant workers will be busy building a mini-Qashqai while colleagues in India assemble the Micra. Due on sale in Thailand from March 2010, European deliveries will start shortly after.
