As of this autumn the Renault Scénic range will comprise of three models: Scénic, Grand Scénic five-seat and Grand Scénic seven-seat. Externally the changes to the Scénic are subtle, consisting of a basic front-end facelift, black headlight surrounds - as seen on the Mégane - and most noticeably a chrome grille.
Starting from £14,495 on the road there are 68 combinations of engine, model and trim level. The 1.4 16v petrol Scénic sits at the bottom of the range, which is topped off by a FAP-equipped 150bhp dCi Auto Grand Scénic seven-seat which, without any additions, would set you back a wallet stretching £23,110.
Perhaps as significant as the styling updates, Renault is to launch a new special edition to replace the Extreme and Expression trim levels. For the same price as the out-going Extreme model you can now order the better equipped special edition Team model, which feature metallic paint, air-conditioning, a CD-radio, leather steering wheel and front and rear electric windows. The Team interior upholstery is dark grey with blue stitching and uses the same charcoal cabin finish as seen on Dynamique versions.
Buyers will find that the option list is extensive, from bumper friendly car park sensors to cruise control, speed limiter, Bluetooth hands free kit, to sporty 17-inch alloy wheels. Several option packs are available: City, Comfort, Convenience and Handling. These packs offer suitably grouped extras (e.g. traction control, ESP, CSV and tyre pressure monitoring in the Handling pack) for a discounted price.
The rest of the range remains largely unchanged, with the Conquest spec solely available on the regular Scénic, while Dynamique and Dynamique S versions are available across all three models. Available to order from next month, deliveries will begin in November.
