Peugeot today announced that it will show a new hybrid concept at its home motorshow
in Paris this October, where it will also reveal the car's full name.
Currently known only as 'RC...', the four-door, four-seat concept is claimed by the French manufacturer to be a versatile car boasting some innovative hybrid technology.
The concept targets high levels of efficiency both in terms of performance as well as environmental impact. Its claimed power output is 313bhp and CO
2 emissions are 109g/km or zero in full electric mode.
Jerome Gallix, the new design boss of Peugeot, styled the four-door 'coupé' to follow on from previous concepts such as the RC Spade and RC Diamond of 2002. He also took cues from 2006's rear-engined V12 luxury saloon,
the 908 RC.
Peugeot's current gaping grilles could be on the way out judging by the new front-end demonstrated with this latest concept. The new 607 and 407 due to arrive in 2010 and 2011 are likely to feature variations of this latest, neater design.
