BMW has announced a new sports package for its 6 Series grand tourer that aims to enhance driving dynamics and adds a more sporting appearance with exterior changes comprising of a new bonnet and alloys.
The package, called Edition Sport, also enhances the driving dynamics of the 6 Series by means of stiffer anti-roll bars, which are 10 and 30 percent firmer front to rear respectively. Changes on the inside include a brushed aluminium finish and a choice of seven colours of which two are new to the range.
The range-topping 650i Edition Sport also gets a sports exhaust to aid engine breathing and increase the decibel count. Prices for these newly re-packaged 6s start at £53,445 for a 630i Edition Sport Coupé rising to £65,820 for the topless 650i Edition Sport.
BMW has also fettled its M6 by the addition of a Competition Package. The M6 gets revised suspension tuning and updated DSC and ABS settings in order to enhance the driving experience. These changes, along with new wheels and a sportier bonnet add £2,180 to the M6's £84,475 list price.
The BMW M3 will also receive some changes for its September update although they're not performance oriented modifications. It will merely get a new rear light cluster and a slight boot lid redesign in line with the rest of the facelifted 3 Series range. Inside, there is also a light and switchgear change. All 3, 5 and 6 Series models will further be improved with the addition of BMWs new iDrive.
