| New model derivative | 2008 Paris Motor Show |
Vauxhall has released the first pictures of a third model in the Insignia range: the estate-bodied Insignia Sports Tourer. The new model will make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show on 2nd October.
From the B-pillar back the Sports Tourer has unique bodywork that shares no exterior panels with the saloon or hatchback. The estate retains the 2,737mm wheelbase of its sister cars but is 80mm longer overall. At the rear the tailgate wraps round under the tail lamps and into the sides of the body.
In addition, Vauxhall will add two new engines to the Insignia range: a small capacity, turbocharged petrol unit and a more powerful turbodiesel unit. These will complement the existing line-up of two diesel and three petrol engines that range from 128bhp diesel to a 256bhp petrol V6. As with the saloon both front and four-wheel drive transmission will be offered on the Sports Tourer.
Full details, including pricing will be released at the
Paris Motor Show in October. The Insignia Sports Tourer will go on sale in the UK in spring 2009.
