Honda will have a prominent presence at the
2008 British Motor Show and centre stage is given over to an all-new concept car, being shown in public for the first time.
The Honda OSM (Open Study Model) is the work of designers based in Honda's R&D facility in Offenbach, Germany and though it does not directly preview a forthcoming production model, it will provoke debate within the company and garner customer reaction to the creation of such a vehicle.
A preliminary designer sketch indicates that the OSM is a slippery shape in keeping with Honda's recent run of concept sports cars, though Honda is claiming that the concept has been designed from the outset to be a low-emission model.
Perhaps a showroom-ready OSM would use the new CR-Z's hybrid powertrain to achieve good fuel economy and low emissions, as that car has been confirmed for production - the concept version is also on show in London.
Along with its current line-up, Honda will entertain visitors in its Dreamscape arena, where 40 different Honda products will be used to put on a live show, including re-enacting the company's innovative live sky jump advert.
