There is nothing better than getting together with a group of like-minded people, so if you love motors, getting yourself to one of the UK's many motor festivals should be at the top of your list of things to do. These events are great for allowing you to get up close and personal with some fantastic motors and even maybe enjoy a top-notch driving experience. From classic cars to super, modern cars there is something for everyone. Here is a list of our favourites:

Footman James Bristol Classic Car Show - June

This show takes place in June and is the longest running event of its kind. On arrival to the festival, you'll be greeted by masses of privately owned classic cars as you walk through the classic car park. This is known as an extremely friendly event and the exhibitors are usually very enthusiastic and keen to talk to people about their vehicles, so you will be able to find all the answers to any questions you have. The show also features independent traders, with a large area set aside as an indoor autojumble, perfect for bagging a bargain. There's also the chance to purchase your own classic car as the festival culminates in an auction.

Goodwood Festival of Speed - June/July

This event began in 1993 and has gone from strength to strength since then. The festival takes place in the wonderful parkland of Goodwood house near Chichester and is considered to be the biggest celebration of motorsport in the UK. Festival attendees are offered the opportunity to get up close to cars and bikes as they roar up the track, and you might also get the opportunity to meet the drivers who get to put these fine pieces of engineering through their paces for a living. And if this wasn't enough, visitors can also take part in a driving experience on the day whereby the general public can take to the track in one of many top performance cars present at the event. It is a good idea to book these from one of the many experience days companies well in advance as places get snapped up very quickly on the day.

The Fast Car Festival, Donington Park - July

This is a festival that celebrates the past, present and future of motoring. So, you can expect to find anything from beautifully restored classic cars to ultra-modern hypercars. You can also relax at the track and enjoy stunts and demos from professional drivers or head to the live stage to take in some live music or interviews with industry experts. You can easily make a full weekend of this festival by purchasing camping tickets for the Saturday evening, which give you access to the Japfest on the next day, Europe's biggest Japanese car show.

The Heveningham Hall Concours d'Elegance - July

This festival only opened for the first time in 2016, but has proved to be extremely popular with motor fans. In 2017 the festival also evolved to include displays of some of the world's finest propeller airplanes, so if you have an appreciation for all engines, this could be the festival for you. Heveningham Hall itself is a grade 1 listed Georgian mansion, it makes this a truly unique event and it provides the perfect backdrop for showcasing 50 of the best cars that the motoring world has to offer. The event runs at the same time as the hall's annual country fair, making it the ideal festival to bring the family to for the weekend.

CarFest North - July / South - August

CarFest is the brainchild of Chris Evans and brings together music, fun and cars all in aid of Children in Need. The event is held in two different locations, you can go to the northern event at the Bolesworth Estate in Cheshire, or the southern event at Laverstoke Park Farm in Hampshire. There will be a huge selection of cars on display, from vintage to modern, as well as lots of fun activities for the whole family to participate in. Plus, there are live performances from some big names in the music industry throughout the weekend. This is the perfect festival to take the family.
