What's all this about?
Renault has announced prices and specification for the new Twingo GT and revised Dynamique S. Available to order from 1st December, the models cost £13,755 and £12,205 respectively. The GT has been developed by Renault Sport to deliver extra performance; the Dynamique S offers sporting looks at a lower price.
What do you get?
The Twingo GT is available in Blaze Orange, Crystal White, Lunar Grey or Diamond Black. All of the shades have optional contrasting aircraft-inspired stripes. Extending from the bonnet across the length of the roof, the stripes are a nod to the Twin'Run concept car. An optional Sport exterior touch pack adds orange or black detailing to the front grille, door strips, door mirrors and rear spoiler.
Interior colours echo the exterior, with Orange trim details on the part-leather upholstery, air vents and base of the gear lever. There are also Renault Sport-badged door sills, aluminium pedals and a Sport gear knob.
Options include GT roof and bonnet decals, an electric fabric folding sunroof, lane departure warning system and the Techno Pack with R-Link multimedia system that incorporates 7-inch touchscreen, voice control and reverse parking camera and sensors.
How about the mechanicals?
Renault Sport has worked on the rear-mounted, 0.9-litre engine, raising power and torque to 110hp and 170Nm. With new ratios in the five-speed manual gearbox, Renault claims 0-62mph in 9.6 seconds. Chassis tuning includes stiffer shock absorbers, a larger diameter anti-roll bar and 20mm lower ride height. Yokohama BluEarth tyres are fitted to the 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The stability control has been recalibrated for a more sporting drive.
Can you tell me about the Dynamique S?
The Twingo Dynamique S replaces the Dynamique and features many of the same interior and exterior styling accents as the GT; chief difference is the fitment of 16-inch alloy wheels. Items on the options list include the GT body kit, extra tinted rear windows, fog lights with cornering function and rear parking sensors.
