He's known to many as the DJ who tried and failed to take Jeremy Clarkson's crown as Britain's favourite car show host. But now, almost a year after sensationally quitting BBC's Top Gear, Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans is returning for what looks set to be another exciting year's events at CarFest: North and South.
What is CarFest?
Created in 2012, CarFest is a family festival based in both the North and South, taking place as two separate events over the summer. Proceeds from the events will go towards BBC's Children in Need. CarFest North takes place in Bolesworth, Cheshire between 29th and 30th July, and CarFest South in Laverstoke Park Farm, Hampshire, from 25th to 27th August.
The events will feature a whole host of entertainment including music from Happy Mondays, The Killerz, Kaiser Chiefs and Olly Murs. There will also be a carnival, a whole host of vintage fairground rides, dance festivals and even the world's biggest custard pie fight!
What cars to expect at CarFest
Of course, outside of all the other family fun to be expected this summer, there's no shortage to the wealth of impressive cars we can expect to see. This year's theme is "Car Nations" and will focus upon the best exports from around the world including France, Italy, Japan and the US. More than 60 cars will be on display, from Britain's very own Aston Martin Vulcan to a 2004 Formula 1 BAR Honda from Japan.
Within the CarFest Paddock, visitors will be able to see a variety of supercars in action as well as interviews with dynamo drivers. In the CarFest Demo Zone, stunts and tricks will be available for all to see, whilst the famed "Sporting Bears" will allow visitors the chance to ride around in vehicles like the Ferrari California 30, the Lola T70 Spyder and the Jaguar X J220. Despite being a family festival, the media attention and high calibre of vehicles CarFest is attracting could soon make it a rival to such prestigious events as the International Geneva Motor Show. At only five years old, the show has already grown considerably and is set to get even better in years to come.
How can I get my tickets?
