I hear that the new Renault Sport Megane has two chassis.
Like the old Lotus 88 F1 car? One for aerodynamics and the other for comfort?
Well, kind of, but also no, not at all. This is simply Renault Sport doing what it's done before, offering buyers the choice between a 'Sport' chassis that's agile and fun, but also comfy enough to drive every day, and a 'Cup' chassis that's stiffer, harder and really more suited to track days.
Sounds fun. Could I have Sport at the back and Cup at the front?
No, but you can have a new four-wheel-steering system, which Renault says makes the car more precise, more agile and which has been specially calibrated to cope with the performance from the car's allegedly 300hp 1.8-litre turbo engine.
Same engine as the new Alpine mid-engined sports car?
The very one, albeit it's almost certainly going to have more oomph than the Alpine's 250hp. You'll also be able to choose between manual and dual-clutch automatic gearboxes.
When can you tell us more?
Presumably as the car's world debut at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show (in September) nears.
