What's all this about?
Volkswagen will present a new concept car at the Consumer Electronics Show, CES, which runs from 6th to 9th January 2016 in Las Vegas. The concept will demonstrate expected developments in long-distance electric drive trains (or 'electromobility' as Volkswagen calls it) and in-car connectivity. Dr Herbert Diess, Chairman of the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand, will give the keynote address on the evening before the show.
What else do you know?
In its press release Volkswagen describes the concept as marking the beginning of a new era of affordable, long-distance electromobility. As well as long-term trends Volkswagen's show stand will display the latest in-car infotainment technology that will come to market soon. We can expect to see new display and operating concepts such as those seen on the Golf R Touch concept car revealed at the 2015 CES.
The CES is a trade-only event that has become one of the key showcases for the motor industry to demonstrate the latest technology. We will bring you full details of Volkswagen's concept when it is revealed in the New Year.
