What's all this about?
Porsche is recalling 58,881 examples of its Macan SUV worldwide to carry out remedial work on a possibly leaky fuel line.
Which variants are affected?
Only the petrol Macans, namely the S and the Turbo; the S Diesel is unaffected. Following a small number of customer complaints, an investigation was carried out and Porsche determined that a low-pressure fuel line in the engine compartment could potentially leak. The company is insisting that, at the time of writing, this recall work is entirely precautionary.
If someone has one of the affected cars, what happens next?
The local Porsche dealership will contact all owners of affected cars to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. The rectification will take one hour and will be carried out free of charge. Porsche also says all Macans still on the production line will have the upgrade work carried out from now onwards.
