What's all this about?
Skoda has revealed the Monte Carlo edition of the latest generation Fabia, which is available on 0% PCP finance from £105 per month. If you prefer to pay cash the Fabia Monte Carlo is priced from £14,645.
What do you get?
Hatchback and estate body styles are available in the signature Monte Carlo colour scheme of red with a black roof. The 16-inch alloy wheels, door mirror caps and radiator grille are all finished to match the roof. Other exterior features include sunset glass, a panoramic glass roof and 'Monte Carlo' badges for the B-pillar. For the estate there are also black roof rails.
Inside there is more Monte Carlo branding on the front door trims. It also comes with sports front seats, a cherry red centre console, black decorative inserts and a set of floor mats with red stitching. Equipment levels are based on the Fabia SE, which means air conditioning and front assist emergency braking; DAB radio and an infotainment system with 6.5-inch touch screen are part of the package.
What engines are available?
Three petrol and two diesel engines are offered. The petrol options are three-cylinder, 75hp, 1.0-litre; four-cylinder, 90hp, 1.2-litre; and four-cylinder, 110hp, 1.2-litre. Both diesels are 1.4-litre, three-cylinder units with power outputs of 90- and 105hp. Lowest CO2 emissions and best fuel economy come with the lower-powered diesel, which manages 93g/km and 78.6mpg.
How does the pricing break down?
The 90hp petrol model costs £630 more than the base version while the 110hp version is £15,925; DSG automatic transmission is available with this engine for an extra £1,000. Diesel power starts at £17,275. Estate models cost £865 more than the equivalent hatchback though the smallest petrol engine and automatic transmission aren't available with the estate body.
