Infiniti. Hang on, isn't that something that Prof. Brian Cox warbles on about on telly of a Thursday evening?
Well, yes and then again, no. Infinity is the concept of unending distance across the universe, but Infiniti is actually a posh Japanese car maker - Nissan's luxury division.
Is there a difference?
Well, one is a mathematical concept and the other has sales so small you probably need the Large Hadron Collider to be able to find them. That could be about to change though, as Infiniti has confirmed that it will launch its first ever premium small hatchback, the Q30, at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September. It's platform-and-engine sharing with the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, so at last here's an Infiniti that will have the right engines and the right sort of chassis for Europe and the UK. Better yet, final development work on the car (and its larger QX30 SUV brother) is being done by Nissan's Cranfield Technical Centre, so it should be well-set-up for UK roads.
My God, it's full of stars...
Well, you'll have to wait for the road test to find out.
