What's all this about?
Late June sees the Goodwood Festival of Speed fire up for another year, and Ferrari is providing good reason for Prancing Horse fans to flock to Sussex.
Why?
Because the Michelin Supercar Run up the 1.6-mile Hill Climb route will see the UK dynamic debut of its latest supercar, the 488 GTB. This 650hp beauty is the 458's replacement and it's the first mid-engined, twin-turbo V8 from Modena since the 288 GTO and F40 models.
Is that it?
Cor, you're hard to please, aren't you? No, that's not it, as Ferrari says this is its 'greatest line-up ever'. And we're not about to argue. Most of the current road car range will be on display, including the California T, F12 Berlinetta, LaFerrari and F12 TRS, while the mental track-only, 1,050hp FXX-K will also be on hand, as will a 599 XX.
How about Ferrari's race history?
Amply represented by a 458 Challenge (running up the hill in the GT race cars group), the 2010 F1 entry - the F10, driven by ex-Formula 1 driver Marc Gené - and a wealth of beautiful, privately owned historic classics including a 250MM, 512 BB/LM and a 641 from the 1990 F1 season among others. Happy now?
